A New Season
This is a new season. As we enter into this season, my heart is full of hope. I hope that a new flow of grace would flood over us. And as that pours out onto each of us, I hope that we would extend it to one another.
This is a time that calls for our hearts to reach out to those on the other side of the line, especially those whom we do not understand. This is a time for us to reach over and listen to reasons these things spew out of one another rather than respond with repulsion or turning our backs, to include not omit.
This is a time to put away anger and frustration toward one another and, instead, to do the hard work, sitting in uncomfortable places. To aim anger and frustration in creative acts and education rather than at other people.
This is a time of willingness to give up what others think about us, to be true and loyal to us as a whole. This is a time to get rid of what tradition speaks or what family says you should believe and find out what you believe, refusing to invest your hope into a person.
This is a time to listen and to share and to comfort and to play. This is a time to love.
This is a new season. With a new season comes new hope and new responsibility. Take the gift and make good. Be trusted with this gift. Be gentle with this gift. Be thankful for this gift. This is a new season. Be kind.
