All Gboard
Has anyone else here been taken aback by Gboard? Just kidding. I know that's dramatic, but I'm totally in love with it.
First of all, Swype Text has been a dream of mine since 2012. And I've had an iPhone since the beginning of iTime. (The deepest gratitude to Mr. Kushler, who also, might I add, invented T9. He's a game changer, folks.) Dreams really do become reality. By the way, don't try to tell me that there has been an app available for years that I could have downloaded. It doesn't help me now. Let me celebrate. Why dwell on the past! (That's a rhetorical question, hence, the "!")
Secondly, who wouldn't love that you can just do a straight search from the ol' text screen, then share if you want? I don't know about you, but it's a waste of my 30 seconds to double click Home Button to open Safari, click in the bottom-middle of the screen, click Message, type their name, and Send. Or maybe for some of you double click Home Button to open Safari to press hard on the web address, Select All, Copy, double click Home Button to open Messages to press hard on text bar to Paste to Send. Oh, no! Whatever your method--no more time wasted with this little gem in the palm of your hands.
Thirdly, trying to find the crying emoji and having trouble? Tirelessly flipping through screen after screen emoji after emoji for that perfect little face? Just type "crying." Feeling excited but the word just doesn't do your feeling justice? Type "excited," Gboard has some ideas for you on how to express it.
The space bar is a cursor? Come on! That's so fun and practical. I find myself in all out frustration scrolling back over the sentence to put a period in a place I forgot and repeatedly ending up just a space over from where I want to be, screaming, "F Grammar!" then crying because I actually love grammar, and this stupid keyboard has forced me into cursing that whom I love. (No. I don't take responsibility for my own actions or emotions. Damn that keyboard.) Fret no more, my friends. Gboard has your back.
And also, it just looks nice. I love a change up in font, so this is right up my alley. Beautiful: that's the word I'd use to describe it. I mean, don't you just love to look at nice font? Ain't nothing but a G thing, baby.
What I'm trying to say is Gboard's pretty rad. If you haven't already, then maybe download it. And it's currently only available in the U.S., folks. So if that doesn't make you proud to be an American, I give up. If you wanna, let me know what you think. (And no, unfortunately, not a single soul has paid me to write this up. Just a freak.)
