Kindness

Kindness

Kindness is easy when it's someone who also is kind. Kindness is a touch more difficult when you're dealing with someone who has no idea that the word exists.

However, act in kindness we must. Kindness manifests in many different forms. The actions that first come to mind tend to be fiscal and acts of generosity. However, kindness happens most grandly whenever that individual is nowhere to be seen.

This kind of kindness happens whenever you've been hurt time and again and you've been given an opportunity to defame and smear their entire personhood, but you say nothing at all. This happens when someone wants to gossip about the person you despise most and still you choose to seal your lips.

Even larger kindness emanates whenever you're all alone, just you and your thoughts. Rather than listing out all of their misdeeds, you choose to let go. You instead let them off the hook...again. You choose forgiveness, freedom.

Kindness isn't at all easy sometimes. But kindness is for you, too. At some time in our lives, we all have received kindness we didn't deserve. And it will happen again. This is an opportunity to save your very insides from withering in darkness while hoarding hate. You see, when you let them go, you're letting you go, too.
